Sean Hinton’s second book is an illustrated poem about Mac, a cheeky black cat, a greedy rat, and an old sailing boat, who take a trip out to sea when a storm blows up. Take a journey with Mac, an excellent hunter who loves to chase all the local animals and birds, Rat who loves to eat pretty much anything but especially enjoys cake and cold ginger beer, and Blue, an old sailing boat taking his last trip out to sea before retirement. Mac and Rat, an unlikely couple travel to the coast to find Blue who is moored at Safe Harbour. Discover what happens when a storm blows up and Mac refuses to follow orders and gets into trouble while Rat comes to the rescue. As ever, the story tells of how one good deed is repaid by another.
This rhyming story was written by Sean for his children when they were young. His task was to invent a story based on three things: their family pet cat, a sailing boat because Sean was at sea, and a rat, and this is the delightful result. Sean himself has had a varied career; he has served as a Royal Marine Commando, a Firefighter, and an Electrician, and is a member of the MG Owners Club. Author royalties will be donated to the Royal Marines Charity.
Seasick Rat ’n’ The Overboard Cat has been made especially appealing for young children by using full-colour, double-page illustrations, by R M Price-Mohr.
