Continuing the story begun with The Children Return.
The three Warriors of the Light confront Earth’s relentless enemy on the mysterious and previously unknown planet of Ennaris as they search for the fate of the predecessor mission. They have found that the stakes are much higher than a single planet. Goroth, the rebel Mage, confined in stasis since the disastrous end of the rebellion, reaches through his bindings to contact his old lieutenants.
What started as a search for the first Warriors mission has taken on new, darker overtones. The Shadows of the Likud Empire have been met in battle on Ennaris, but they appear to be in thrall to one of the old rebel Mages who continues to prepare for Goroth’s return.
The children of the Old Blood are being targeted by death squads of ghazrak, creatures of nightmare, and the Warriors are forced into roles for which they are not prepared.
An alliance must be built from the fractured peoples of Ennaris to confront this evil. The Union fleet battles the Empire fleet in space around the planet.
The events of the Prophesy of Halfgar move forward inexorably.
Time draws short. Can the Warriors and those Mages who remain draw the Ennarisi together and create a viable force? Can the untested Faero take his place at its head, or will old habits deal a blow to those hopes?
