This publication is an edited volume comprised of ten articles that address wide-ranging topics, all of which are intended to help the Special Forces soldier better understand resistance and frame future research and analysis. Each article serves as a standalone piece for the ARSOF soldier to reference.
The articles cover topics such as organizational growth constructs of the resistance movement, the public component of a resistance movement, the interest, identification, indoctrination, and mobilization phases of recruitment, the threshold of violence to balance power to achieve a resistance movement’s ends, information technology and threat finance employed by a resistance movement, methods of achieving legitimacy for a resistance movement, factors involved in a post-transition to governance, and external support leveraged for a resistance movement.
