Robert L. Angus (November 20, 1975) was born to Barry and Linda Angus in Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada. Named Michael Patrick Robert Leigh Angus, the first two names were dropped when his grandmother exclaimed, "That’s such a big name for such a small boy!" Mack Paddy lives on as a pseudonym for Robert’s darker work. Robert spent most of his childhood being passed around from one family member to another, and his youth spent wandering. His early adult life was spent in Brandon, Manitoba, and he finally moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1995. He held many different jobs, from a 1-900 psychic line operator to a management retail position, factory jobs, and even picking garbage on the highway, Robert eventually enrolled in college in 2002, and after completing his high school upgrading, transferred to Mount Royal College and studied in the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Degree Program. During his college career, Robert established a series of publishing houses and a custom book bindery called Octavia & Co. Press (which eventually became Theophania Publishing and Octavia Book Bindery). Robert lives in Calgary, has three children, and a small contingent of ex-wives. He studies the esoteric, religion, literature, and music. He may be found at his book bindery crafting books, or writing children’s books (under his own name) or crime fiction (under the name Mack Paddy).
