Fastball Fari

Who is Fari Madrigal? Only the first female player in the history of the major leagues. Fari is a mystical girl from the Dominican Republic whose beauty is exceeded only by the hop on her fastball. Within days of being discovered, Fari rises to the top of the baseball world and all of America. But she soon learns that the price she will have to pay for success and fame may be very dear: the very soul that drives her to seek perfection on the mound, and maybe even her life.

Michael Cruit grew up in Minneapolis, MN. After three years in the U.S. Army, including one tour of duty in Vietnam, he earned a degree in sociology at the University of Minnesota. He entered the doctorate program in social psychology, taught sociology at the University of Wisconsin for one year, then, in 1980, he traveled to Costa Rica to write his dissertation. However, he immediately fell in love with the jungle environment next to the Pacific Ocean and decided to live there. He spends his time walking on the beach and in the rainforest, reading and writing. FASTBALL FARI is Michael’s fourth book, his first about baseball.
