Like the author, LAND OF THE FREE’s unnamed protagonist begins his career working odd jobs town to town, often sleeping outside - on a quest not just to reach all 48 contigious states by motorcycle, but to live a new life in each.
Over the course of his journey, the book’s nameless hero takes on countless jobs and identities - including the role of a world famous, corporate sponsored clown - is taken-in by outlaws smuggling pot and psychedelics, then re-emerges mistaken for a wanted man in a police chase, wherein he must define his personal identity and role in society. That adventure is the subject of this debut novel, the semi-fictional, semi-autobiographical LAND OF THE FREE (Harbinger Book Group, 2014).
