The Alloway Files

The Alloway Files is the darkly humorous tale of Ellen Alloway, a young City Schools teacher who is put on administrative leave for mysterious reasons, and the HR Clerk who is sent to her school to investigate. Along the way, the reader encounters other unforgettable inhabitants of School 405, including astute students, depressed faculty members, misguided consultants, a wise janitor, and frustrated administrators. Throughout the book, Roller presents an authoritative view of the chaotic state of the City School system. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes touching, The Alloway Files will have you laughing until you are crying, or, perhaps, crying until you are laughing.
