Norman E. Matteoni earned a B.A. from the University of Santa Clara and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School. He is a lawyer, legal author, and lecturer on the law of eminent domain. His interest in the dispossession of the Oceti Sakowin influenced his studies on the U.S. government’s annexation of the Black Hills. He is the author of Condemnation Practice in California, the comprehensive book on that subject, as well as Prairie Man: The Struggle between Sitting Bull and Indian Agent James McLaughlin.
