The House at Lobster Cove is a loving testament to George Nixon Black, his house, and the secrets he held. Kragsyde, a shingle-style architectural masterpiece was built by him on the North Shore of Massachusetts and was later recreated in loving detail by author Jane Goodrich and her husband on an island in Maine. Using characters, letters and events from history, and spanning the period between the Civil War and the Jazz Age, The House at Lobster Cove, Goodrich’s first novel, is part family saga, part love story, and an engaging personal journey set against the magnificence and mercilessness of the 19th century.Goodrich, a co-founder of Saturn Press, drew and hand-lettered the cover illustration. Both the cover and title page spread were letterpress printed at the Saturn Press studio.
