Since birth, Kit Mallory (Mallory Kit) has been a child of two worlds. As the prophesied offspring of an empiric queen and the figurehead of a rebel alliance, she was supposed to heal the wounds of a centuries-old political feud.

Kit has underestimated the Coalition. Not only in their desire to contain her DNA, but in their determination to create it.

Trapped on a ship with a mad scientist, Kit discovers there is something more sinister at work in her biology. The grand altruistic prophecy, placed on her shoulders as a child, is turning out to be smoke and mirrors. While the Coalition will stop at nothing to retrieve her DNA, her new captor will do anything to prevent them from getting it. Including killing her.

With deceptions and betrayals piling up all around her, Kit has no choice but to meet with the man responsible for her creation. A man, who like her, is being hunted by the Coalition. Between her DNA and his genetic research, they could cause the fall of the empire.

When Kit’s struggle to survive leaves her with an impossible choice, she once again follows her heart instead of her brain. A decision that feeds the Coalition’s thirst for power and threatens every man, woman, and child loyal to the crown.

With the empire now at stake, Kit must make the ultimate sacrifice to prevent the genocide of her people.
