Resistance Matters is a collection of essays written over the course of a decade. Though highly personal, this book is designed to help us all think about how we might challenge the status quo, inside and out.
The world is on fire. Oceans rise. Another young Black man is killed. A teen is kicked out of their home. Poor people are denied housing and care. Trans people’s rights are diminished. Another person dies, attempting to give birth to a child... Meanwhile, billionaire wealth has exponentially increased as communities struggle to survive.
These essays were all written about experiences of life in empire, in the midst of creeping fascism, climate disaster, genocide, and billionaire kleptocracy. They were written out of anger, love, and hope. They were written in solidarity, laughter, frustration, and pain.
These essays were written in the world as it is, and in a wish of a better world to come.
