A lover of dogs, cats, and furry or feathered critters of all shapes and sizes, author and illustrator Randy Schaffer has trained with some of the best watercolor artists in the U.S. Her 22 years as a spiritual ministry leader, along with her family’s beloved pets, Jesse and Coco, inspired her to share how our relationships with others who need our empathy can help them navigate life’s struggles. She has served on the Advisory Board of the Franciscan Spiritual Center in Aston, Penn., and Board of Oasis Ministries for Spiritual Development. She spent many years in a variety of positions within the garment industry. These life experiences inspired her to write and illustrate her debut book, A Dog Can Make a Difference, the first in a series about Jesse showing kindness and caring everywhere he ventures.
