We so often forget about the many women and girls that are missing all around the world. Many are kidnapped and transported through human trafficking. These young women and girls go through so much while in captivity, from being raped, beaten, and being introduced to drugs and alcohol. They are medically neglected and even go as far as to miss their loved ones, and because of this, they become severely depressed. This gives them less hope of ever returning home and leads to suicide in some cases. This book, entitled "Annika," is about a young girl who was captive and used as a sex slave. She never gives up hope and also tries to help others get out as well. This is a book that reminds us to never give up hope because one day that door will open up for us. Let’s not forget about our women and girls that are stolen from us and snatched from their lives. Let’s remind them that we still love them and that we will never give up on them.
