Shannon is passionate about early childhood education and special education. Ironically, she vowed that she would never be a teacher. After graduating from UC Irvine, she began substitute teaching and unexpectedly fell in love with preschool special education. She went on to pursue an Early Childhood Special Education Credential and an M.A. in Special. She has dedicated 28 years to early childhood education, primarily in preschool special education.
Her inspiration for writing came from the beloved children’s book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, whose repetitive wording engages young learners.
