Reaching for the door handle, Lola’s mother turned, and looked at her. Lola looked into her mother’s eyes with true terror, knowing her decision was to run. In Lola’s mind, if The Boogie Man saw her mother trying to escape, he would chase her down and kill her. Lola’s petrified voice begged, ＂please don’t leave me＂. Her mother looked into her tear- filled eyes and released the handle.
