After Lexi Caehill receives an inheritance from her grandmother, she escapes her manipulative family and sacrifices her high-paying job as a pastry chef in New York to open a bakery in the one place that ever felt like home, Fauna, Mississippi. She finds the perfect building to set up shop, an old Victorian house right on the town square.

When the local contractor, owner, and all-around hottie, Chaz Walker, arrives, he takes one look at Lexi and refuses to sell his Meemaw’s house to a city girl who can’t appreciate its history or the abundance of family memories within its walls.

Chaz finally agrees to sell to Lexi, but only if she hires him for the remodel. Between late nights working together and shared meals at the B&B, Lexi and Chaz turn arguments over kitchen layouts into heated glances and sweet new memories.

But more than one storm is brewing as a hurricane and Lexi’s money-hungry parents set their sights on Fauna. After a lifetime of supporting her scheming family, Lexi will have to decide if she can accept Chaz’s help and heart, and if living in Fauna can teach her what family truly should be.
