A close encounter with bandits motivates young Eferath to take the warrior’s path and join the Academy. But it won’t be that easy. In fact, it was going to be the hardest thing he’d ever done in his life... And that’s just to be accepted by his peers. Life on the frontier was as good as good-enough could get for Eferath, but as he took his first steps into a much larger world, he soon discovered that not all was as it seemed. Suddenly, a fight to become accepted and respected among his peers turns into a fight for his life. Eferath will have to figure out whom he can and can’t trust if he hopes to survive the dangers that lie in wait for him in the supposed safety of the Academy. The stakes are high, and it’s not just his graduation at stake, but his life, and the lives of all those he holds dear.
Can Eferath survive in a world where lies, deceit, and treachery are commonplace, and the only person he can trust to watch his back is his own shadow?
