Claudine Fisher is French-American. She holds an Agrégation-ès-Lettres in English from Bordeaux University, and a Ph. D in French, from Paris VIII. Born in Algiers when it was a French province, she lived in Provence, Bordeaux and Paris and now resides in Portland, Oregon.
