A few years in the future we find Jessie Monroe, a tough, smart, resilient ex-spy, working as a CIA data analyst. She was called back from her field assignment when covert operations were deemed unnecessary, since Russia is now a close ally to the United States.
While analyzing satellite data, Jessie finds evidence that a foreign power is planning to attack U.S. networks. As she tries to raise the alarm, she encounters resistance caused by inept and weak leadership that cannot conceive that the U.S. still has enemies. As U.S. military networks start to fail from the attacks, the government refuses to consider that any outside force would have the audacity, the gall, or the ability to attack the United States.
Jessie comes to realize that the truly great leaders in government and industry are gone. They had abandoned their positions in disgust, as the corporate takeover of the Government proceeded and inept leaders were elected. The prior great leaders were letting the voters learn that choices matter. Meanwhile, America has fallen into disarray.
To discover the truth behind the attacks, Jessie must go undercover again as Juno Wolfe. However, this time her assignment is not sanctioned by the government.
From a secret facility hidden in the Arizona desert, Juno finds even more than she bargained for. It is up to Juno Wolfe and her small loyal team, aided by an unlikely band of Freedom Fighters, to bring sanity back to the world.
