Perceptions become one’s reality. Perceptions hold the key to life and living, as it becomes one’s reality. As you read this book, I encourage you to consider the power of perception and words and how they frame our interactions based on past experiences. Whether you’re a student, teacher, administrator, parent, or other educational stakeholder, the lens through which you view education (and the world in general) influences your place in it. Therefore, to enact positive change in our educational system, we must first change our perception and the words we use to define and describe it.
