博客來Dr. Stucki Is the author of 22 published articles in scientific journals and three books about the continuing problems still facing Native Americans in the U.S. and Canada that he observed during his almost 40-year teaching and research career that often involved close interaction with indigenous individuals and reservations in an attempt to ameliorate serious problems still facing them. Dr. Stucki received his B.A. degree from the University of Utah, a M.A. degree from UCLA, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Colorado (Boulder).
National Geographic in its recently published book, 100 HIKES of a LIFETIME: The World’s Ultimate Scenic Trails, still includes a visit to the Havasupai’s amazing waterfalls as one of the best 100 hikes in the world. Will this be the last time they will give it this honor given the almost total absence of its travertine formations and deep diving pools as illustrated in the photo on pages 48 and 49 of that recently published book?
This book will explore not only ways to restore the travertine formations and the deep diving pools they create but also suggest actions the tribe can take to avoid the ever nearing lethal societal, economic, and environmental collapse now facing it.
