ABOUT THE AUTHOR Introducing Tabia Mawusi Playwright, Activist, Visionary Tabia Mawusi, which means "Talent in the Hands of God", is an up and coming playwright, producer, director, actor, artist, activist, singer, songwriter and visionary. She says her ability to create is her greatest gift. She has penned everything from spoken word, poetry, songs, plays, and short stories, to articles, training manuals, and business summaries. She is mostly known for her original inspirational stage production Mend A City: Lies Left Unspoken which opened October 24, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The production was well received and ended with a standing ovation each night. Be on the look out for the second play of the Mend A City Trilogy. Mend A City: The Movement written with Xulee and Phillip J Lightfoot, is a compilation of spoken word pieces, monologues and scenes which speak directly to the history of Indigenous Peoples of Africa and the America. Tabia Mawusi lives in Las Vegas, Nevada where she owns Tabia Mawusi Management & Consulting. You can find her performing at various venues, working closely with local independent artist and business owners. She also works with The BlackBook, an online directory created to help people locate and identify where Black Owned businesses are across the nation. Her third published work will be released in February 2018 it is titled Mend A City: The Gospel of Our Black Nation. It is an auto biography in which she shares her personal experiences growing up "black" in America. And offers anecdotes and solutions for the Indigenous Peoples of Africa and America to begin the healing process.
