圖書名稱:Ultimate Self-Care: A Holistic Guide for Strength and Balance in Changing Times

Barbara Halcrow has brought her wealth of experience and knowledge as a social worker, healer, teacher and health care leader to provide information concerning critical personal and work-related self-care challenges many of us are experiencing. This guidebook offers a wide range of practical mind/body/spirit self-care tools, tips, resources, and alternative mindful solutions that can help anyone, anywhere; especially people who extensively give service to others, or who provide direct care for loved ones. While Halcrow addresses some of the important personal life issues we can all face, she also looks at the dramatic impact of earth's climate changes now upon and offers some practical ways and resources to assist in supporting the recovery of our earth's health. Barbara Halcrow interweaves her work with clear recognition of the intelligent interrelationship of the mind, body and spirit and how our awareness of this energetic interconnection, that involves the connection with the earth itself, can make our self-care even more empowering. An easy step-by-step self-care assessment/planning guide is also included to inspire readers in building their self-care knowledge. Barbara Halcrow's synergistic work is filled with wisdom, encouragement, compassion and hope. The author provides examples of her own self-care and healing journey throughout, thus enhancing this unique and absorbing compilation of information, to prompt our own self-inquiry. Barbara Halcrow's heartfelt writing can even provide readers with a measure of personal healing.

作者簡介

Since childhood, Barbara Halcrow was naturally inspired to support, encourage, and help others, and, it was through a near-fatal accident, that she was redirected to begin her life’s work as a Social Worker, trainer, and healer. She received her MSW from the University of Manitoba. On this healing and teaching path, Barbara traveled to diverse urban and rural communities in British Columbia, Manitoba, and the Yukon territory in Canada, as well as Seoul, Korea. Her work primarily involved the areas of child protection, domestic violence, sexual abuse, mental health and addictions, and most recently, in adult/older adult health care. Barbara held many leadership roles across the health care continuum in acute care, rehabilitation, and community care sectors. Spiritually, being an intuitive, empathic person, Barbara always felt a strong connection to the beauty and power of nature, the realm of spirit, and the vitality of the loving energy that flows through all of life. Over the years, this deep connection led to further spiritual development and energy studies at home and abroad. Barbara Halcrow studied at Stansted, England’s Arthur Findlay College of Spiritualism and Psychic Sciences. She also trained in several levels of the Melchizedek Method from the Kamadon Academy, Australia, and further received certification in Reiki healing in Vancouver, BC. Barbara has also completed a course in medical intuition from the International College of Medical Intuition, Inc. in British Columbia, Canada. Barbara believes that by offering ourselves more conscious love and self-nourishment, we will gain in personal strength and resiliency. She also acknowledges that by embracing gratitude, compassion, and forgiveness toward ourselves and others, we will enhance our ability to move forward in our sacred life journeys with increased clarity in our direction and purpose. This clarity can create swifter, positive changes in our lives, and in turn, we can more positively affect the lives of others, as well as the health of our earth.
