Haydon Rochester, Jr. was born in New York City and raised in the village of Hardwick in northern Vermont. After training in natural science and working several years as a scientific editor, he changed direction and began earning his living as a freelance technical and marketing writer. Inspired by a client’s observation that his contribu-tion to a government-sponsored report appeared to be largely fictional, Mr. Rochester began writing stories in 1985. Since then he has published nu-merous short stories and five novels. Mr. Rochester lives with his wife in the charming town of Onancock on Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
