What do the happiest, most satisfied married couples have in common? What do they do differently? What are the tools of a truly healthy marriage? In today's world of ever-increasing divorce rates, author, Katie Kolberg Memmel, has wondered what it is that truly makes the difference. For as long as she can remember, Katie has been interested in hearing about people's real and enduring love stories. Upon meeting new friends, she often asks how a couple met, became engaged, and what they believe makes their marriage work. For decades, it has been Katie's dream to write this special book about real and enduring human love. She finally got brave, and asked to talk with some of the most solidly married people she knows. She sat down with eight individuals and couples; and through a series of extensive interviews, Katie asked each of them about their beginnings, their loving feelings as well as their disagreements, their joys, and even their inevitable heartbreak. Though some of these stories have similarities, they're also each quite unique. No one she interviewed was born into wealth, and no one has completely avoided trouble. Though Katie's heard it said that marriage is based on "luck," she doesn't believe that to be the case. Author, Katie Kolberg Memmel, was born and raised in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She dedicated most of her adult life to raising her family. She has two grown children: Tony (married to Lesleigh), and Megan (married to Joe). In 2015, she was elated to add the title of ＂Grandma＂ to her personal resume. She happily resides in Waukesha, Wisconsin with her husband, ＂Grandpa＂ Todd. Katie has written two prior books. In 2012, she released, ＂Five Fingers, Ten Toes - A Mother’s Story of Raising a Child Born with a Limb Difference.＂ It is her personal story of raising her son, Tony Memmel, born without his left forearm and hand. In the book, she shares her deepest fears and worries as well as her ultimate trust and victories. Tony has gone on to become a Singer / Songwriter, and lives in Nashville. In 2015, Katie released, ＂Silly Stories and Sentimental Stuff.＂ Based off of her blog, Katie’s View, the book is a compilation of some of her most humorous, and most heart-felt short essays.
