Aurora, twenty-five and fresh out of college, can barely sleep from the invasive nightmares she’s endured since high school. At a party to celebrate her homecoming, she is approached with an unexpected job offer, to be the director of a new art program-at a men’s prison. Over the objections of her concerned parents, and with the encouragement of her best friend Beatrice, she reluctantly accepts the position... no matter the terrible dreams, or the animosity she faces inside. Maybe she can make a difference. And then Aurora meets Jeremy-tattooed, imposing, and unreadable; a man seemingly set upon protecting her from evils unseen. A man whose sketches and secrets draw her in close, too close-until she finds out the real reason he was locked away.
