Sanjay Kumar, PhD, is presently working as Professor-cum-Chief Scientist in rhw Department of Agronomy at Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour, Bhaglapur, Bihar, India. His research focuses on sustainability, crop productivity, and climate-smart agricultural practices. He has handled various administrative/research management positions such as coordinator, conservation agriculture; nodal officer, climate resilient agriculture program, nodal officer, RTI; principal investigator, AICRP on IFS; Chairman, Department of Agronomy, Bau, Sabour; NS Scientist, KVK, Giridih (2004-2011). His research achievements include scaling out zero tillage under a International Rice Research Institute project, CASI technologies under the Sustainable Farming Systems Intensification (SRFSI) project, establishing an innovation platform and business model (the ARANYAK and DEHAAT models) under a SRFSI project, and five technologies developed by BAU, Sabour. He has published more than 40 research articles and 30 popular articles. He has served as editor of several books and guest editor of several special issues in reputed journals. He has supervised six postgraduates and PhD students and has 12 years of research and teaching experience at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels.

Shivani Ranjan, PhD, completed her BSc (Ag.) from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (Dr. RPCAU), Pusa, Bihar; MSc in Agronomy from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bihar, India; and PhD in Agronomy from Dr. RPCAU, Pusa, Bihar. She has published 20 research and review articles, 33 popular articles, and 20 book chapters. She is a life member of the Indian Society of Weed Science and Indian Society of Agronomy. She has received awards for best poster presentation and best article. She has qualified ICAR-NET and UGC-NET and is a recipient of an UGC Fellowship. Her research interests pertain to conservation agriculture, carbon footprint management, integrated nutrient management, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy management in rice-wheat cropping system.

Sumit Sow, PhD, completed his graduation from Visva-Bharati, West Bengal, India, and post-graduation in Agronomy with an ICAR-JRF Scholarship from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bihar, India. He received an ICAR SRF Fellowship during his PhD program at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, India. He has qualified ICAR-NET and UGC-NET and has published 10 research articles, eight review articles, 34 popular articles, and 22 book chapters. He is the author of two books and editor of five books and is also a life member of the Indian Society of Weed Science and Indian Society of Agronomy. His research interests include site-specific nutrient management using crop canopy sensors in rice-wheat cropping systems, integrated nutrient management, standardization of planting materials in sugarcane, and weed management in rice-based cropping systems.

Smruti Ranjan Padhan, PhD (Agronomy), is currently working on varied aspects of weed management and conservation agriculture-based nutrient management options for cropping systems under maize sequence. He has published several peer-reviewed research and review papers in acclaimed national and international journals, along with many book chapters and popular articles. He completed his undergraduate degree at Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. By securing AIR-03 (Agronomy) in the ICAR-AIEEA-PG (JRF) Entrance Examination, he has successfully completed his master degree, being a topper from the prestigious Division of Agronomy, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, India. He has also qualified for the ICAR-AIEEA-PhD (SRF) entrance examination during his PhD program.

Dhirendra Kumar Roy, PhD, is Professor-cum-Chief Scientist and Director, Seeds, at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Bihar, India. He has also held the esteemed posts of Deputy Director (Pusa Farm) and head of various regional research stations. In his more than 16 years of teaching and research experience, he has guided 23 MSc and five PhD students. In addition, he has completed two prestigious externally funded projects and six consulting projects. He has published 65 research papers, 32 popular articles, 10 technical bulletins, four extension bulletins, six pamphlets, three booklets, five folders, 10 book chapters, three books, and one practical manual. He has also been a participant in the program committees of several national and international conferences and on the editorial boards of eminent international journals.
