On her way home, Alba finds herself swept away by a panicked and totally disoriented crowd. Breathless, she collapses on the porch of a mansion not far from the Buttes Chaumont.

When she wakes up, she discovers that Paris has been the target of a mysterious attack at the Saint Lazare train station. The threat now extends to the whole of France.

With no news from her family, she wanders the rich corridors of this building lined with magnificent paintings, like a parenthesis in the midst of the raging chaos.

How long will she have to stay locked up in this strange residence where she’s not welcome? Can Danny and Alba overcome their irreconcilable differences to survive this apocalyptic Christmas?＂
