Juan Carlos Jauregui is a Professor at the Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro, where he conducts research in the design and dynamics of machinery. He has been responsible for the design of a large number of automatic, tailor-made machines employed in a range of industries. Among these projects, he was in charge of the design and construction of a parallel robot for positioning the secondary mirror of the Large Millimetric Telescope (www.lmtgtm.org). He has also been involved in the development of monitoring systems based on vibration analysis, a topic on which he has written several papers and the book "Parameter Identification and Monitoring of Mechanical Systems Under Nonlinear Vibration" (Elsevier). In addition, he has written more than 70 papers in international journals and conference proceedings, two other books and several book chapters. He belongs to different professional organizations, including the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), Mexican Society of Mechanical Engineering, Academy of Engineering (Mexico) and IFToMM. He is also a member of the National Research System, the most prestigious research evaluation program in Mexico, and has been honored with several awards.
