Challenges and Solutions in the Hydrogen Value Chain: Selected Papers from the 2nd Renewable Hydrogen Energy Convention

This book brings together global experts from industry, science, and the policy and investment communities to explore the field of hydrogen technology. The chapters provide coverage of the hydrogen value chain, from production, storage, and transportation to its application as a solution to climate change. Ankica Kovač, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture where she holds position as a Head of the Hydrogen Laboratory and the Power Engineering Laboratory. Dr. Kovač holds her Ph.D. in green hydrogen production. Her research interests include the whole hydrogen value chain from hydrogen production (water electrolysis in conjunction with renewable energy sources), hydrogen storage, and distribution to hydrogen usage in fuel cells. She is co-editor of the book Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Technologies in Aviation (Springer, 2022) and has authored scientific papers published in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Kovač is the founder and chair of the Renewable Hydrogen Energy Convention (RH2EC). She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Collaboration Program on Advanced Fuel Cells and the committee’s representative of the Republic of Croatia. Dr. Kovač is a member of the Council of the President of the Republic of Croatia for Energy Transition, Vice President of the Croatian Hydrogen Association, and Vice President of the expert-working group for the development of the Croatian Hydrogen Strategy. She is serving as the Guest Editor of International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and Energies Journal. She was awarded the Croatian Woman of Influence Award in Leadership and Innovation.
