Hybrid Composite Materials and Manufacturing: Fibers, Nano-Fillers and Integrated Additive Processes

Dr. Kumar’s current research area includes developing new composite manufacturing techniques using large-scale polymer additive manufacturing (AM) and traditional & advanced manufacturing processes. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, Japan (Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics) in September 2016. He was a recipient of a prestigious Japanese Government scholarship (MEXT) during his full Ph.D. Course. He also expertise in the CFRP composites’ response under the direct lightning strike and engaged in designing novel materials to mitigate the lightning strike damage. He has published more than 60 papers in reputed Journals and peer-reviewed conferences. He is a Winner of prestigious SAMPE 2021 Young Professionals Emerging Leadership Award. He won the ＂Outstanding Technical Paper Award＂ in the category of ＂Best in Track: Advances in Materials＂ at the CAMX 2019 conference. He was also a finalist for the Awards for Composites Excellence (ACE) competition at CAMX 2019 and CAMX 2020, two years in a row.
