Barbara Schönher was born on a snowy December day in the early 1980s in a small town in the Austrian Alps. She was born under the sign of Sagittarius - the archer, half horse, half human - in a town called Bludenz that has the unicorn as emblem on its flag. She is a descendent of mountain farmers that always kept horses, who were horsemen for many generations, whose family emblem is the unicorn. Somehow she was magically drawn to horses. As soon as she could talk and walk, she convinced her mother that she just needed to ride. As soon as she could ride and write, she started writing horse stories. And that is what she loved doing the most: writing and riding. She is an independent author and "The Unicorns’ Fortune" is her debut novel. She is a social scientist and horse trainer.
