Steve Lawson took an active part in the uprising in Hungary many years ago. After his ammunition ran out, he was wounded, captured, jailed and maltreated by State Security. After the uprising was crushed and reprisals began, he escaped and headed for England where he had jobs as a door-to-door salesman of brushes, men’s suits, vacuum cleaners, etc., then as a miner’s labourer building the Victoria Line Underground in London. He studied in night-school, gave a lecture at an International Electronics Engineering Conference, published a technical paper and became a Fellow member of several major Institutes. He obtained positions as a senior engineer then manager and married a nice girl. The marriage ended seventeen years and three daughters later, and he accepted a job offer from Germany as a consultant engineer on spacecraft and satellite development projects for NASA and ESA. He’s been writing thrillers and crime novels for over 20 years, at the beginning to minimise stress in his profession, but then as he found writing fulfilling, he wrote to learn the art and technique of writing with the target to publish. He lives with his second wife in a town north of Lake Constance in Germany.
