THE PROBLEM: IT’S CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK Man is regarded as the crown creature of God. He is superior to other lower level 2 of life. Moreover Nature has endowed him with different qualities. Nature has not placed him at par with other creatures. Among different qualities, Intelligence is one of the remarkable and distinguishing features of human personality. Although other creatures too possess certain level of intellectual abilities but human intelligence is quite different from them, for the reason that man has acquired mastery over the world and captured all other creatures of his surroundings under his control, only because of distinguishing type of intellectual abilities. Intelligence is an abstract concept and it can not be explained in the words. We can compare it with the ’electricity’. As electricity can not be seen but it makes our daily life problems easy we can realize its functions. In the same way Intelligence can also make our work easy. Previously Intelligence was considered as a faculty or Shakti (Wechsler, 1944) By using Intelligence we can perform our works easily and can take our decisions more meaningfully. When we see in the roots of Indian History for knowing the concept of Intelligence we find that in ’Upanishads’ period, the intelligence was compared to the words ’Buddi’, Prajna, Mati, manisha etc. (Maitri Upanishada, 6:31 in Jacob, 1963, P- 638) In a more specific way, Maitri Upanishada (as quoted from Hume 1930) takes Buddhi, manas (mind) and Ahamkara (ego) together (Intelligence) for constituting the intelligence form,
