In this publication the author will discuss the multiplicity of challenges faced by the African Christian in the current dispensation within the African cultural context juxtaposed with the modern technological era. The author will highlight some of the conflicts within and without and how these impinge on the life of the modern African Christian.The author begins by addressing the whole issue of secularization which seriously impinges on the Christian movement in Africa today. The importance of discipleship is then discussed followed by a detailed account of African Christianity. A detailed description of the challenges facing the modern African Christian is then given. The last segment of the paper addresses Christian relevance in modern Africa and the checks on a relevant Christianity are outlined.
