This is a study on the external environment monitoring process. It was carried out in three operators from the Telecommunications sector using interviews as a data collection tool. The objective of the research was to verify the monitoring categories of the organizational environment and how these categories influence the process. As a result, it was observed how information captured from the external environment is collected and made available to managers, the sources of information used, the information technology tools used to store and make information available to internal customers and the professionals involved in the external environment monitoring process.
