Notably, basic education institutions in Brazil, like other institutions, have faced constant challenges caused by changes in the organisational environment. In the more specific environment, which is the case of private primary schools, it can be seen that the main characteristics are related to the great competition, the greater priority given to basic education, the quest to improve the quality of teaching, innovation in passing on knowledge and the focus on organisational effectiveness. The main aim of this work is to study strategic knowledge management as an instrument of value in a private basic education institution located in the city of Campina Grande - Paraíba.
