The accountant’s role in a scenario of instability

The study sought to ascertain the impact of the current Brazilian economic crisis on the footwear industry in Nova Serrana, and the role of accountants in this scenario of instability. A field study was carried out, with a descriptive purpose, documentary and bibliographic data collection. The book contains qualitative and quantitative analyses. The data was collected using a questionnaire with objective questions, which was passed on to managers and accountants in the city’s footwear industry. The conclusions show that Brazil is experiencing a strong economic crisis with little sign of improvement. In Nova Serrana, we can see reflections of the country’s strong crisis, but to a lesser extent. The data collected shows that managers highly value the work done by accountants. They consider the information they provide to be important when making decisions and classify them as active in the company. The administrators and accountants remain cautious about the economic scenario in Nova Serrana and the majority classify it as undefined.
