The topic of the creative economy has been the subject of debate more and more frequently due to the recognition of its potential for a country’s development. The aim of this research is to investigate whether students on the Bachelor of Business Administration course offered by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Southeast Minas Gerais, Barbacena Campus, are being prepared to work in companies within a creative economy context. To this end, a qualitative, exploratory study was carried out, comprising a bibliographical survey, documentary research and semi-structured interviews applied to students on the Administration course, with non-probabilistic, convenience and intentional sampling. The documentary research involved analysing the syllabus of the Business Administration course in order to verify aspects relevant to the training of managers working in companies with a creative profile. Content analysis was used to analyse the data collected.
