Reaffirming the relevance of new technologies in education may seem redundant, but it is necessary for the current context in which this book is set. In order to understand how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are treated in studies that discuss the use of these resources in Brazilian education and to identify the potential mediating character of ICT in the teaching process, this book presents evidence found in scientific-technological production in the area mentioned. Specialist authors confirm the mediating potential of these technologies while reinforcing the need for pedagogical projects that are committed to their appropriate use. In addition, teachers who are committed to using these tools make a big difference to their students’ learning.
