Through a restructuring of the global organization of labor today, there is a progressive and growing subsumption of labor into capital.Differences in the use that countries make of new technologies are highlighted together with economic, political and social factors that explain the growth of precarious and low quality jobs.The management of information and data are the new commodity in today’s world and digital platforms are new business models of large corporations that international organizations denounce for their labor exploitation.This situation reveals the boom of information technology companies in our country, where their workers are deprived of basic labor insurance. In view of this, alternatives are proposed based on contributions from Uruguayan technicians and a critical reflection is provided, pointing out the excesses that can be committed and the challenges that arise in this regard.
