This book is focused on investigating the treatment time of an Electrocoagulation System to remove or reduce the concentration of parameters such as Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), as well as the behavior of Temperature (T ), Conductivity and Hydrogen Potential (PH) during treatment. The study was carried out in a vegetable oil extraction plant in the Peruvian jungle, located in the district of Campo Verde, Province of Coronel Portillo, Ucayali Region. This extraction plant with its current treatment could not reduce all its concentration of pollutants, but still sent its effluents to a stream, causing an irreversible environmental impact to this ecosystem and its surroundings. In this way, pre-treated industrial wastewater was treated whose parameters still exceeded the Maximum Allowable Values (MAV) for vegetable oil processing effluents established by the World Bank Group in 2015. As a result, the optimal treatment time in the Electrocoagulation System to remove BOD and COD is 20 minutes, using only 12 volts.
