The aim of this book is to shed light on the influence of acupuncture and moxibustion on improving physical performance and physiological responses to exercise, by analyzing cardiorespiratory and metabolic variables (VO2max, VCO2max, among others) before and after treatment. We conclude that the treatment is effective in relation to the objectives set, but that a greater number of samples must be gathered to prove the results achieved so that the data collected can be reproducible and reliable in the eyes of science. This book is aimed at Physical Education professionals, Physiotherapists and all those who are interested in the possibilities that acupuncture and moxibustion offer in the most diverse areas of activity. It offers a more academic and scientific view of a subject that still has a lot of empiricism, as well as providing a basic protocol for those who want to improve the physical performance of their students and/or patients.
