Leprosy is still a public health problem in Brazil and its heterogeneous distribution across the country highlights the need for a recent epidemiological characterisation of the disease in our country. This study analysed the epidemiological profile of leprosy in the state of Minas Gerais between 2011 and 2015. It was an epidemiological, investigative, retrospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study with a comparative-statistical procedure, using data from the Hospital Information System of the Unified Health System (SIH/SUS).
