Caring for the caregiver is the responsibility of all those involved in the process of caring for the elderly person, with the intervention of health professionals standing out. It is therefore a priority to assess the needs of informal caregivers, with the aim of bringing together synergies between informal and formal caregivers, whose intervention translates into health gains for both caregivers and dependent elderly people. This recognizes the need for health professionals to focus their actions on informal caregivers, promoting the enhancement of their capacities and skills, through interventions aimed at addressing perceived difficulties, in order to minimize the negative impact associated with providing care.
