"Design Grid - A Conceptual Framework of Design Thinking" in Consulting, is based on the doctoral research titled "An Empirical Study on the Application of Design Thinking in Consulting in Information Technology Industry in India."Design thinking Principles are the fundamental ideas or general rules, Design thinking Practices are the tools or techniques by which the expected outcomes of the principles are achieved. The matrix of the such principles applicable for consulting along with associated practices, is the ’Design Grid’, the proposed conceptual framework for the research.The study covered IT organizations in India, providing consulting services. Research method used - Online surveys with Practitioners, Focus group discussions with Experts and Interviews with Industry leaders. All five design thinking principles and twelve design thinking practices of the Design grid found applicability in all the consulting phases across all consulting types, demonstrating the breadth and depth of usage of design thinking principles and practices.The conceptual framework; the ’Design grid’ can therefore, be a force-multiplier for applying Design thinking in Consulting.
