Patient experience is the sum of all interactions, shaped by an organization’s culture, that influence patient perceptions across the continuum of care. Better patient experience is associated with better patient safety, improved clinical outcomes and higher patient experience scores. Many complaints had been received from patients, and mass media reported patients’ dissatisfaction during their stay in the COVID-19 treatment centre in DBH Teldeniya [DBHT]. The positive patient experience was considered as patients were happy with their healthcare and the negative patient experience was considered as patients were unhappy with their healthcare. Therefore, this clinical audit helped determine factors associated with patient experience. Improving patient experience led to advanced healthcare quality and patient safety. The objective was to improve patient experience at the COVID-19 treatment centre in DBHT. The overall patient experience improved by 24% after implementing a few interventions at COVID-19 treatment centre in DBHT. The interventions were very effective in improving patient experience, quality and safety. The healthcare providers should sustain the clinical audits.
