This research delves into the impact of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating with donor funding in realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, the study focuses on Education International’s (EI) contributions to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 5: Gender Equality. The primary objective is to assess the effectiveness of NGOs in advancing the SDGs, with a particular emphasis on initiatives funded by donors. The examination of EI’s role in Sierra Leone underscores the significant potential of NGOs to contribute to SDG achievement. This research adds valuable insights to the evolving understanding of the pivotal role played by NGOs in advancing the SDGs. Addressing these limitations and pursuing further research endeavors will provide a more profound comprehension of the intricate role that NGOs play in the implementation and accomplishment of the SDGs.
