The number of Muslim pupils is increasing throughout Europe. A study carried out in Berlin by the Ministry of the Interior shows that 73% of Muslim pupils attach great importance to their faith. Despite neutrality in Austrian schools, legally recognized religious communities are allowed to practice their religious doctrine. But how is it possible to be a Muslim and a pupil at the same time in a secular environment?This book analyzes problems relating to Islam that occur in schools and outlines possible solutions so that peaceful school life can be guaranteed for all school partners.
