The proposed online-based malnutrition-induced anemia detection smartphone app is designed to remotely measure and monitor anemia and malnutrition in humans using a non-invasive method. This painless method enables user-friendly measurements of human bloodstream parameters such as hemoglobin (Hb), iron, folic acid, and vitamin B12. It accomplishes this by embedding intelligent image processing algorithms that analyze photos of the fingernails captured by the smartphone camera.
